This Privacy Policy describes how the ConvertWiz Chrome Extension ("the Extension") handles user data. We are committed to a privacy-first approach, collecting only the minimum data necessary to improve the extension.
All unit, currency, and timezone conversions are performed locally within your browser. The values you see on web pages are never sent to our servers. Your browsing history is never tracked or logged.
When you install the Extension for the first time, a one-time anonymous signal is sent to our server to help us understand our user base. No data is collected on subsequent launches or updates.
Additionally, when your cumulative usage reaches certain milestones (1,000 conversions, 10,000, 50,000, etc.), a single anonymous signal is sent for aggregate analytics. The milestone count itself is stored locally across your devices via your browser's sync storage and is never sent to our servers except as part of these milestone pings.

When you use the "Share" feature in the tooltip to share a conversion on social media or via email, a single anonymous event is logged to help us understand how the feature is used. The following data is collected:

When you voluntarily submit a report or feedback via the Extension, the following data is collected:

To provide its core functionality, the Extension requires the following permissions:
Install telemetry and feedback submissions are stored in a private spreadsheet and retained for as long as needed to improve the extension. You may request deletion of any submission by contacting us at the email below, referencing the approximate date and content of your submission.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data under the GDPR. To exercise these rights, please contact us directly.
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Any changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Effective Date."
